Sprint Term 2025 Overview

28 March 2025

Under the Masters in STEM Education at King’s College London’s Centre for Research in Education in STEM (CRESTEM), students participated in the module on Quantitative Methods in Education and STEM. This module aims to equip students with essential skills in quantitative research using recent PISA data. By learning the R coding language, students gain practical experience in data analysis and graphical presentation.

A notable project by student Manuela Parra Echeverri examined the impact of food insecurity on academic performance across various countries. Her findings highlight the importance of addressing educational inequalities by tackling socioeconomic disparities. "To truly drive systemic change and improve educational outcomes, we must ensure that every student has access to their basic needs, such as having their food secured," said Echeverri.

A key focus this term has been to advertise next year’s scholarships to prospective students, particularly through KCL’s school connections, alumni, and STEM hub networks. Click here to read the update.
