Dr. Eisenkraft is past president of the National Science Teaching Association and past-chair of the Science Academic Advisory Committee of the College Board. He leads Active Physics and Active Chemistry introducing high quality project-based science to students. He also chairs (and co-created) the Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Awards, involving 15,000 students annually for over 30 years. He leads the Wipro Science Education Fellowship program which is bringing district transformation through teacher leadership across the U.S. He has recently been supporting novel educational initiatives in Thailand and India.
Eisenkraft has received numerous awards recognizing his teaching and related work including the National Science Board’s Public Service Award, AAPT’s Millikan Medal, and NSTA’s Carleton Award. He is a fellow of the AAAS and holds a patent for a laser vision testing system.
Finance and Operations Manager Center of Science and Mathematics in Context (COSMIC)
Anthea is the Finance and Operations manager at COSMIC. She has worked with Dr. Eisenkraft for the past 19 years managing the budgets of all projects; assisting with the preparation of annual & quarterlyreporting for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and private grants including the Wipro Project. She has also worked with Dr. Hannah Sevian and Dr. Jason Green from the Chemistry Department; Dr.Lisa Gonsalves form the Education Department; and Dr. Robert Chen, School of the Environment, managing the budget for their NSF projects. Anthea’s pride and joy is spending time with her family, especially her three children and her two amazing grandsons.
